The OTC DAIHEN ADP400 is a fully digital inverter AC/DC pulse TIG welding machine highly favored by high-end manufacturing enterprises. Thanks to advanced inverter technology, it is not only compact and energy-efficient but also provides extremely precise AC/DC waveform control. It perfectly handles the high-melting-point oxide film on aluminum alloy surfaces and precision root passes on stainless steel. To match the broad 400A current adjustment range, the manufacturer has carefully designed two standard factory kits: Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled. This article details the configuration lists for these two kits and their core water-circuit components.
1. Welding Expert Guide: How to Avoid Pitfalls When Selecting ADP400 Air-Cooled vs. Water-Cooled Kits
400A is a critical “heat input watershed.” Choosing the wrong cooling method not only affects weld quality but also leads to frequent equipment downtime and damage:
- Air-Cooled Configuration (with AW-26 Torch): Only suitable for light-duty thin plate conditions. If you purchased a 400A power source primarily for more stable low-current control, and your daily welding current rarely exceeds 200A—mostly consisting of short-seam intermittent tack welding—the lightweight and maintenance-free advantages of the air-cooled system will be maximized.
- Water-Cooled Configuration (with AW-18 Torch): The mandatory choice to unleash the true capacity of 400A. When welding medium-to-thick aluminum plates, high currents of 250A-400A are frequently required. Under this extreme thermal load, an air-cooled torch will overheat within minutes and may even burn its internal cables. A water-cooled configuration must be selected. Please note that the water-cooled kit includes multiple extra “inlet/return water hoses” and dedicated connectors compared to the air-cooled version; special attention must be paid to water circuit sealing during installation.
2. OTC DAIHEN ADP400 Air-Cooled Standard Factory Configuration List (4m Cable)
Features extremely simple cabling and high mobility, suitable for non-heavy-duty conventional sheet metal fabrication and aluminum frame assembly.
| NO. | Core Component Name | Original Model/Spec | Std Qty |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Inverter AC/DC TIG Welding Power Source | ADP-400 | 1 Unit |
| 2 | Air-Cooled TIG Torch (4m) | AW-26 (4M) | 1 PC |
| 3 | Precision Argon Gas Flow Meter | W-25FL-Ar | 1 Set |
| 4 | Shielding Gas Hose | P1042K00 | 1 PC |
| 5 | Secondary Welding Ground Cable | BKPT-5003 | 1 PC |
3. OTC DAIHEN ADP400 Water-Cooled Standard Factory Configuration List (4m Cable)
Besides the heavy-duty water-cooled torch (AW-18), the core difference of this kit is the inclusion of the P1042L00/P1043L00 dedicated water-cooling circulation hoses and original connectors, ensuring extreme heat dissipation under high currents.
| NO. | Core Component Name | Original Model/Spec | Std Qty |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Inverter AC/DC TIG Welding Power Source | ADP-400 | 1 Unit |
| 2 | Heavy-Duty Water-Cooled TIG Torch (4m) | AW-18 (4M) | 1 PC |
| 3 | Precision Argon Gas Flow Meter | W-25FL-Ar | 1 Set |
| 4 | Shielding Gas Hose | P1042K00 | 1 PC |
| 5 | Dedicated Water Inlet Hose | P1042L00 | 1 PC |
| 6 | Dedicated Water Return Hose | P1043L00 | 1 PC |
| 7 | Secondary Welding Ground Cable | BKPT-5003 | 1 PC |
| 8 | Original Water Hose Connector | K5166Q00 | 1 PC |
⚠️ Safety Procurement Warning: The water-cooled configuration (including the AW-18 torch and inlet/return hoses) must be connected to an external industrial closed-loop circulating water tank. Striking an arc without cooling water circulation is strictly prohibited, otherwise, the welding torch will be ruined in a very short time!
