DA300P AC/DC TIG Welder Configurations Guide

The OTC DAIHEN DA300P is a highly acclaimed fully digital AC/DC pulse TIG welding machine in the precision metal fabrication industry. Thanks to its outstanding AC “cathodic cleaning” function, it has become the ultimate weapon for aluminum and aluminum alloy welding; when switched to DC mode, it perfectly handles high-quality root and cap passes for stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper alloys. To adapt to various operational intensities, the original manufacturer provides two standard kits for the DA300P: Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled. This article will detail the configuration lists for these two factory standard kits, accompanied by an expert selection guide.

1. Welding Expert Guide: How to Choose Between DA300P Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled Configurations?

Choosing the wrong cooling method will cause the welding torch to frequently overheat and burn out consumables, severely affecting welder operations. Enterprises must confirm the actual workshop conditions before purchasing:

  • Air-Cooled Configuration (with AWD-26 Torch): Suitable for light-duty and mobile operations. When your welding current is consistently below 200A, or for tack welding and intermittent short-seam welding where the equipment needs to be moved frequently between workstations, the air-cooled kit is the best choice. It requires no bulky water tank, keeping the system lightweight with simple cabling and extremely low maintenance costs.
  • Water-Cooled Configuration (with AWD-18 Torch): Dedicated to high-current continuous heavy-duty operations. When welding thick aluminum plates, using currents exceeding 200A, or performing prolonged uninterrupted long-seam automatic/semi-automatic welding, the water-cooled configuration is mandatory. The water-cooling system rapidly removes heat from the torch head, protecting the tungsten electrode and ceramic nozzle from melting while keeping the torch handle cool, greatly improving the welder’s experience. (Note: The water-cooled configuration requires an additional external circulating cooling water tank.)

2. OTC DAIHEN DA300P Air-Cooled Standard Factory Configuration List

This kit comes standard with the original OTC AWD-26 air-cooled TIG torch, featuring an integrated gas-electric cable design that is lightweight and durable.

3. OTC DAIHEN DA300P Water-Cooled Standard Factory Configuration List

Geared towards high-current heavy industrial environments, the water-cooled configuration comprehensively upgrades the torch specifications (to the AWD-18 with built-in water circulation channels) and adds a dedicated original high-pressure water hose.
