Robot Alarm Codes 0073-0105 Repair

During the operation of the OTC DAIHEN Welding Robot, if the system experiences abnormalities such as abnormal heat sink temperature, motor discharge fault, external power voltage drop, or encoder battery disconnection, the teach pendant will usually display a hardware and control-level alarm in the 0073 to 0105 range. If these faults are not investigated promptly, they may cause serious operational safety hazards or damage to core components such as the reducer.

To help on-site engineers and mechanics quickly locate problems, we have organized the diagnostic terminology from the official maintenance manual to provide you with the following intuitive fault quick reference table. We recommend using the search function, entering the error code (e.g., 0073), to accurately obtain troubleshooting and processing suggestions.

I. OTC Robot Alarm Code Real-Time Quick Reference Table (0073-0105)

Alarm Code Fault Phenomenon Fault Cause Analysis Countermeasures & Solutions
0073 Drive Unit Heat Sink Temperature Rise Exception. When the heat sink temperature of the drive unit exceeds 85°C, the power component (IPM) in the drive unit may be damaged, so this exception will occur. 1. Confirm whether the ambient temperature exceeds the rating; 2. Confirm whether the primary power voltage is within ±10%; 3. Confirm whether the cooling fan on the back of the control device is rotating; 4. Confirm whether the heat sink is clogged; 5. Confirm whether there is a space of more than 20cm on the back of the control panel. After eliminating the cause of the exception, reset the exception.
0074 Motor Discharge Circuit Exception. This exception will occur when a large current or overheating disconnection appears on the regeneration discharge circuit. 1. Confirm whether the CNR connector of the drive unit is connected; 2. Confirm whether the wiring connected to the regeneration discharge resistor is disconnected; 3. Measure the resistance value of the regeneration discharge resistor and confirm whether it is at 5Ω. After eliminating the cause of the exception, reset the exception.
0075 External Power Voltage Abnormal Drop. The 24V power supply for various sensors and external controls is disconnected. External input/output short circuit occurs. Repair the external wiring or replace the input/output board (I/O). After repairing or in the state where the cable connected to the terminal block is removed, turn on the power of the control device again.
0077 Electromagnetic Switch Action Exception. The servo board (UM221) did not receive the action signal of the electromagnetic switch. 1. The electromagnetic switch has failed. 2. The 24V power supply in the control device is disconnected. Replace the electromagnetic switch. When the 24V power supply in the control device is disconnected, please refer to error code 0075. Exception reset.
0078 Servo Board Power Voltage Exception. Due to various reasons, the DC voltage supplied to the servo board is an abnormal value. 1. The machine cable connected to the robot is disconnected (in the encoder cable); 2. Overcurrent is detected on the servo board. Turn off the power. Please confirm whether the machine cable is damaged and whether the connector is loose. If there is no exception confirmed, turn on the power again.
0079 Control Voltage Abnormal Drop Occurred. This error will occur when the control power (DC voltage) of the drive unit drops. 1. Confirm whether the AC power voltage is within the specified range. After confirming no exception, turn on the power again; 2. Replace the drive unit.
0080 Communication with Servo Board Exception Occurred. Communication exception between the main side and the servo board (UM221). Turn off the power and re-plug the main board. After eliminating the cause of the exception, turn on the power again. If it still cannot recover after turning on the power again, the board may be malfunctioning. Please contact our maintenance service department.
0081 Exception Detected by Watchdog Timer. The main board or servo board is not working properly due to noise or other reasons. Please turn on the power again. If it still does not recover, there may be a malfunction, contact our maintenance service department.
0099 Motor Control Exception. Due to noise, etc., the current and speed control of the motor or encoder is abnormal. Please turn on the power again. If it still does not recover, there may be a malfunction, contact our maintenance service department.
0105 Encoder Battery Disconnected or Voltage Exception. This exception will occur when the backup battery of the encoder controlling the motor position signal is disconnected or the voltage drops abnormally. If you continue to use it like this, encoder position information will be lost. Refer to the maintenance manual of the robot or the replacement steps on the label pasted on the side of the battery to replace the battery (with the main power turned on). After completing the replacement, reset the exception again.
