Robot Alarm Codes 5083-5092 Repair

During the operation of the OTC DAIHEN Welding Robot, if the system experiences abnormalities such as component branch command conflict, power source communication timeout, illegal change of crater control conditions, or tandem arc start logic error, the teach pendant will usually display a hardware and control-level alarm in the 5083 to 5092 range. If these faults are not investigated promptly, they may cause serious operational safety hazards or lead to welding forming failure.

To help on-site engineers and mechanics quickly locate problems, we have organized the diagnostic terminology from the official maintenance manual to provide you with the following intuitive fault quick reference table. We recommend using the search function, entering the error code (e.g., 5083), to accurately obtain troubleshooting and processing suggestions.

I. OTC Robot Alarm Code Real-Time Quick Reference Table (5083-5092)

Alarm Code Fault Phenomenon Fault Cause Analysis Countermeasures & Solutions
5083 Cannot Execute Component Branch Command Multiple component branch commands were executed at the same time in the program logic, causing control system calculation conflicts. Check and modify the program to ensure that multiple branch commands are not executed at the same logic node at the same time, and then execute an exception reset.
5084 Cannot Execute Component Branch Command Attempted to nest and execute a component branch command (FORK) again in a program that has already been branched. Modify the program structure to ensure that nested branch commands are no longer called in branched subprograms, and then execute an exception reset.
5085 Communication Timeout Occurred in Welding Power Source The main control device of the welding power source did not respond to the robot’s data packet within the specified time. Check the wiring and shielding ground connection of the communication cable, cut off the power, and turn on the welding power source again to attempt reconnection.
5086 Incorrect Crater Control in Arc Welding Section The system attempted an illegal condition change forcefully changing from crater control to general control (or reverse). Carefully check and modify the teaching program parameters to avoid illegal mode switching during operation, and run directly after modification.
5087 Incorrect Crater Control in Arc Welding Section The system attempted an illegal condition change forcefully changing from crater control to general control (or reverse). Carefully check and modify the teaching program parameters to avoid illegal mode switching during operation, and run directly after modification.
5088 Back Bead Detected The internal sensor of the arc welding machine judged that burn-through occurred, and automatically changed the welding conditions and fed it back to the system. Reduce the welding current/voltage, specify matching welding conditions again or adjust the teaching path, no forced reset is required.
5089 Welding Path Deviation Detected The sensor detected a physical phenomenon of the welding path deviating to the upper plate during actual welding. Recalibrate the robot origin or adjust the workpiece clamping posture, and specify an accurate teaching path again.
5090 Tandem Arc Start Command Incorrect (Steel Wire) The necessary robot movement command is missing between the leading arc start command and the trailing arc start command. Open the job program editor, correctly insert and teach the movement command between the two start commands, and then execute an exception reset.
5091 Tandem Arc Start Command Incorrect (Aluminum Wire) In the program logic, the trailing arc start command does not closely follow the leading arc start command. Modify the job program to ensure that the two arc start commands follow closely in steps during aluminum wire welding, and then execute an exception reset.
5092 Electrode Type Incorrect Due to a program sequence error, the trailing arc command was incorrectly taught before the leading arc start command was triggered. Modify the step sequence in the job program, correct the start timing logic of the electrode arc, and then execute an exception reset.

When the robot frequently displays the above hardware-level alarms, and routine reset attempts are ineffective, do not forcefully pull the robot arm or repeatedly force restarts, so as not to cause secondary irreversible damage.
