Water-Cooled RTW5000H Torch Parts List

OTC Daihen RTW5000H Series Water-Cooled Welding Torch Core Structure Analysis

In the high-load automated welding workstations of OTC DAIHEN, the RTW5000H series (including RTW5000S, RTW5000H, and RTW5000L torch neck length models) is the primary water-cooled robotic welding torch. Its interior features a precision cooling water circulation circuit, which can effectively dissipate the high temperature from the torch neck and contact tip during continuous full-load high-current welding, ensuring excellent electrical conductivity and service life.

The structure of a water-cooled welding torch is far more complex than that of an air-cooled one. It contains multiple insulating isolation components and numerous waterproof sealing O-rings. Once the seals age and break, cooling water leaking into the gas chamber will cause catastrophic weld porosity. When overhauling the torch body or replacing consumables, please strictly follow the official original exploded view and parts model list below:

Core Warnings for Workshop Maintenance and Error Prevention of Water-Cooled Welding Torch (RTW5000H Series):

  • Beware of “Fatal” Internal Water Leaks (Aging of O-Ring Group): This torch model contains over 4 core O-rings internally (3574-017, 003, 002, 006). Due to long-term exposure to cooling water erosion and alternating high welding heat, the rubber rings easily harden and become brittle. Once an O-ring fails, cooling water will silently seep into the gas chamber and spray into the high-temperature weld pool along with the shielding gas, causing dense honeycomb porosity in the entire weld seam and even inducing hydrogen-induced cracking. It is strongly recommended that the maintenance team conduct a water circuit airtightness pressure test every six months, and all O-rings must be replaced during overhauls.
  • Carbon Deposition and High-Voltage Breakdown of the Insulator (L6571C01): Located at the front section of the torch body, the insulator is responsible for isolating high-voltage welding power. Under overhead welding or high-spatter conditions, metal spatter or black carbon sludge easily adheres to the insulator surface. If the nozzle is not regularly removed for cleaning, metal residues will form a conductive bridge, causing the outer tube of the torch neck to become electrified, which may not only burn out the robot body flange but also cause electrical shock to personnel.
  • Misconceptions in Cleaning the Gas Diffuser (U3766K01): The small holes on the gas diffuser determine the laminar flow stability of the shielding gas. Many operators habitually use sharp iron wires to poke the diffuser holes to remove spatter, severely destroying the fluid dynamic structure of the distribution holes. This causes the gas to form turbulence and draw in external air, resulting in oxidized and blackened weld seams. The correct method is to use a dedicated torch cleaner or soak it in a spatter removal solution.
