Robot Alarm Codes 2152-2171 Repair

During the operation of the OTC DAIHEN Welding Robot, if the system experiences a corresponding fault condition such as calling a non-existent step, changing the coordinate system or tool number during circular interpolation, file protection, or maintenance cycle warning, the teach pendant will usually display a hardware and control-level alarm in the 2152 to 2171 range. If these faults are not investigated promptly, they may cause serious operational safety hazards or damage to the mechanical arm joints.

To help on-site engineers and mechanics quickly locate problems, we have organized the diagnostic terminology from the official maintenance manual to provide you with the following intuitive fault quick reference table. We recommend using the search function, entering the error code (e.g., 2152), to accurately obtain troubleshooting and processing suggestions.

I. OTC Robot Alarm Code Real-Time Quick Reference Table (2152-2171)

Alarm Code Fault Phenomenon Fault Cause Analysis Countermeasures & Solutions
2152 No Step This error is detected when a step number that does not actually exist is specified by the step transfer and call command. Modify the jumped step number to the correct value.
2161 Cannot Change Coordinate System During Circular Interpolation This error occurs when the coordinate system is changed midway through the circular interpolation trajectory. Teaching operations should be performed using the same coordinate system in the circular interpolation trajectory. Modify the program and restart.
2164 Cannot Change Tool Number During Circular Interpolation This error occurs when the tool number is changed midway through the circular interpolation trajectory. Teaching operations should be performed using the same tool number in the circular interpolation trajectory. Modify the program and restart.
2165 File Protected Trying to modify or delete a file (program, constant) that has been fully or partially protected. Release the protection of the file (program, constant).
2166 Program Has Regeneration Protection Detected when trying to perform regeneration or carry check on an operation program subject to regeneration protection starting from the first step (step 0). The specified job program is not the program used for operation.
2167 Movement Amount of Each Axis Too Small, and Insufficient Recorded Steps The valid point data for calculation is less than 10 points, or the same point is recorded due to reasons other than teaching errors. Record the same point for 10 or more points (4 or more points only for tool constants), and then reset the exception.
2168 Axis Within 1000 Hours to Reach Maintenance Cycle The remaining time (time to reach lifespan) of the displayed axis is less than 1000 hours. Replace the reducer of the displayed axis in time. After replacement, clear the “consumed time up to now” to 0. Exception reset.
2169 Inappropriate Step Number This error is displayed when the specified step does not exist or the step of the reference program is a function step. Specify the movement function, and then reset the exception.
2170 Different Tool Postures This error is displayed when the tool postures at the specified 2 points are not the same. Make the tool postures the same, and then reset the exception.
2171 Tool Number Mismatch The tool number recorded in the specified step differs from the selected tool number. Make the tool numbers the same, and then reset the exception.

When the robot frequently displays the above hardware-level alarms, and routine reset attempts are ineffective, do not forcefully pull the robot arm or repeatedly force restarts, so as not to cause secondary irreversible damage.
