Number One Cause of Leaking Valves: When shielding gas continues hissing after welding stops, the valve is rarely worn out—rust, scale, or dust from gas cylinders has jammed the internal sealing gasket! Purge gas hoses before connecting them to new valves, and install an inline gas filter after the regulator to prevent debris from clogging spools.
